Big News #3 Collaboration with a “31″ Consultant!

Yes, folks, a new project!!!  My friend Charlene is a 31 Consultant. (See her page HERE)  31 sells those amazing totes and purses.  And other cute stuff.  They also have a “Skirt Purse”.  The idea is that you change the OUTSIDE of your purse.

But, well, the 31 skirts are kind of BORING to me!!   LOL.  Soooo…….

Now that is JUST the skirt itself. Inside the top edge will be hooks that attach to the purse.  I can’t WAIT to get in my purse so I can fit test this and make a BUNCH more!  Remember THIS post?  Those are the Cotton Duck fabrics I bought for this project.  And there are SOOOOO many options!  Can you imagine rosettes, ruffles, BLING?!  Oh Yeah–Gonna have some FUN with this one!

Thanks Charlene, for the opportunity!

better pictures of the denim purse

The birthday girl loved her purse!  I took a few pictures of her modeling it.  Minus her face!!  I won’t show other people’s children on such a public forum.

Maybe if I just nixed the zipper part, it wouldn’t be such a pain.  Not ALL purses have to close, do they??!!

Happy Birthday Rena and Collin

The Insane Applique quilt is for Collin.  We hit a snag, I’m afraid.  Messed up tensions.  I just finished ripping out all the bad stuff.  It was a mess.  But I’m going to have it reloaded by tonight, and should be binding it by Monday at the latest.

In the meantime, I needed a birthday gift for The Apprentice’s friend.  Cold (for us) and rainy=NOT dragging the boys to town.  Zebra scraps? Check.  Pink? Check.  Jeans that don’t fit and were unflattering when they did? CHECK!

Crappy lighting because of the rain.  Came out cute, though.  But I’ll NEVER do one like this again.

Why???  Because denim is THICK.  I broke 2 needles.  And we won’t discuss how much MORE ripping I had to do because of messed up stitches.

It’s not perfect, but it’s cute.  It’ll be good for a preteen girl!!  Even if it DID take me 5 solid hours!!!

Now, off to the next project!

Christmas gifts 2011

This is my last post of 2011!!  I hope to have many many many new posts in 2012!

I made quite a few gifts this year.  I hope I took pictures of them all, but I’m not sure I did!  Let’s see.

Gifts for my nieces in NC–One loves BLUE, so she got this.

For the other NC niece, I went much more modern.  I’m disgusted with the pictures.  It rained ALL week, so I had to take indoor pictures.

Modern look for Bobbie

LOVED the backing

3 days before Christmas, Mike started saying that HE was getting a quilt for Christmas.  CRAP.  Walmart’s precut batik strips to the rescue!

I did some goodies for Louetta–beautiful placemats–no pictures.  I did a horsie set for Dinah–notebook, binder, and kleenex cover–no pictures.  MOM didn’t get her stuff yet, so no pictures of that yet.  I THINK that was all that I made for gifts this year.

Here is to many MANY more posts in 2012.  Thank you to my loyal followers!!  Keep posted–I want to get more traffic to my blog this year, so I’ll host a giveaway, have some free patterns, and a few other stuff.  I am ALSO going to start charging taxes.  This will be the first year I actually might be in the black, so I figure I’d better sign up with the state and be legal!  Paperwork–YUCK!  LOL  so lots of changes on the way.

peace and pieces,
amy
