Connecting Threads

So I’m sure most of you have seen me mention ConnectingThreads.com on here before.  It’s really my FAV online fabric store.  Not a whole heck of a lot of selection, but their collections are awesome, fabric feels SO nice, and the price can NOT be beat.  No, I am not getting paid for this.  I just LOVE this company!

Anyway, They did a re-release of the Riviera line.  I loved it the first go round.  It’s what I used for this.

So I told them on their Facebook page, and posted the above picture.  Someone liked it enough to comment, AND then reposted it!!  WOOHOO

It’s the simple things that get me excited, I know!  LOL

Wait til they see the baby suite I’m making out of their flannels!!

Big News #4 NEW WEBSITE!!!

Oh Ya’ll!   Here is the BIG announcement!!!!

Butterfly Angels Quilting just moved to a NEW WEBSITE!

http://www.butterflyangelsquilting.com/

I am SOO excited.  With some guidance from an old, dear friend of mine (and her cool hubby) I have a new place to call MINE.   It’s still not 100% perfect.  And I still have to get this blog from wordpress over to the new “home”, but it’s ready enough for now.  Please go take a peek; give it some love; check out the new store and updated photo gallery.

Peek at what just came off my Machine!

And please, if you like my art, share this with someone who also might appreciate it.  The larger my reach, the more work I can create for other people!

Big News #3 Collaboration with a “31″ Consultant!

Yes, folks, a new project!!!  My friend Charlene is a 31 Consultant. (See her page HERE)  31 sells those amazing totes and purses.  And other cute stuff.  They also have a “Skirt Purse”.  The idea is that you change the OUTSIDE of your purse.

But, well, the 31 skirts are kind of BORING to me!!   LOL.  Soooo…….

Now that is JUST the skirt itself. Inside the top edge will be hooks that attach to the purse.  I can’t WAIT to get in my purse so I can fit test this and make a BUNCH more!  Remember THIS post?  Those are the Cotton Duck fabrics I bought for this project.  And there are SOOOOO many options!  Can you imagine rosettes, ruffles, BLING?!  Oh Yeah–Gonna have some FUN with this one!

Thanks Charlene, for the opportunity!

SewHooked Blog Hop!!! with FREE paper piece pattern!

I am SO excited to be involved in this amazing Blog Hop!  Sponsored by Sew Hooked in honor of her birthday, this is such a JOY!  Click HERE for the master list.

When I first decided to do this, I asked my girls and my mother what “Garden Party” brought to their mind.  Of course 1 girl said Flower.  Another said Butterfly.  My mom-hehe-said WINE!!  (I love my mom!!!)  So I started a very complex block.  It is gorgeous. And it WILL be released–just give me some time.  You’ll love it!  Until then, here is the one element I am showcasing for SewHooked!

I would like to introduce you to “Lazy Daisy”

This is a 10″ finished block.   Download the PDF file here —–>  LazyDaisy
Put 4 together, with 1/2″ sashing and a 6 inch panel to the bottom and it looks like this!

or add 1/4″ sashing, and 1 inch borders and it looks like this.

This is what I did with it for now!

Now keep your eyes open, because I will release the other elements to create this block.  It’ll be an 18″block.

Put 3 together and…..

Thanks again to SewHooked!!  This has been a wonderful experience, and I’m so glad to have been following the Hop!

New Beginnings mini received!!!

Good Morning all!!!   It’s taking me 3 days to get this post to you.  There is just WAY too much on my plate!!  But this is from MY partner Crystal!!

Isn’t it ADORABLE????   You can check out her blog here.  LOOK at the embroidery!

I rarely do handwork–You ALL know that.  And this is FULL of hand embroidery.  I’ve never been brave enough to try that yet.

The eggs are my absolute favorite!!

And of course, the Apprentice loves the bunnies!

Thank you SO much, Crystal!!   I truly love it!!!  It is hanging on my front door and will likely be there through June!  LOL

The Apprentice is in the lead!!–and a quilttop is almost done

I can NOT believe it, but my babygirl is in 1st place in the Quilting Gallery Weekly Contest!!!!  I’m just amazed.  I admit, I’m begging for votes on Facebook!!  But she was in 7th (out of 40) before I even started!  Voting ends tonight at midnight.  You can vote for up to 5 pillows, but if you’re trying to help her win, I wouldn’t!  Competition is stiff.  Even if she doesn’t win, this has been an absolute BLAST!!!  She’s so excited.  Her pillow is labeled Gabby’s First Pillow.

Even if you aren’t voting for The Apprentice, please go and vote for those that you do like.  I love The Quilting Gallery contests.  And all the swaps that she hosts.  It’s a good site to join.

I stayed up late last night working on this.  It’s going to be gorgeous, isn’t it??  It’s for an old friend of mine–a true Princess.  LOL  Pink and girly was her request!  I think this should fit the bill once it’s done!

Don’t forget-you can vote once from each IP address.  If you use a wireless router for your cell, go on network and you can vote again!

OH!   And I’m closing the nominations for the Pattern competition.  I’ll have a poll up soon!  Thanks for all the help there, too!!!

Christmas!!!

I am SWAMPED getting ready for Christmas.  Presents to make, presents to buy–All of it is just a tad much.  So Blogging went by the wayside.  Just know I’m NOT ignoring you all.  nor am I ignoring my machines!  Just wait–I’ll have a HUGE post once Christmas is over.  I can’t let anyone see what they’re getting, now can I??!!

But I can post a few things.  Like these batik blocks.  The Contraband Quilters Guild is putting together a quilt that will be raffled off.  As soon as I know more, I’ll give you all the details.  I can tell you one thing, just these 6 blocks are amazing!  I can’t imagine what an entire quilt will look like!

here are a few of the tree skirt!  The Apprentice shows that it can be a human skirt…

And I am modeling it as a poncho!!

Not my best picture, but oh well!  The skirt also looks great around the tree!  LOL

Craft Fair Novemeber 2011

Wow what a DAY!!  It was amazing.  We actually used ALL of the tables in the building, setting up 10 booths.  For us, this is HUGE!  In the past we have been lucky to have 5.  Plans are already in the works for expanding.  But first, need more tables!!!

Here are the pictures of my booth.  Christmas Aisle on the right…

Safari in the center..

Everything else on the left.  “Autumn Leaves “  has been spoken for!

I can’t believe I only sold ONE ornament!  Oh well.  They last!

This still makes me smile!  Wish I’d gotten the pic of me modeling it, poncho style!  LOL

The 2 candy place mat sets are still available, and about half of the pot holders.  When this vintage rocking horse came into our house a few Christmases ago, I NEVER thought it would be used so often as a photo and quilt prop!

Looks like I might have a few orders for  the Portraits.  Only 3 loaves of bread left, and these place mats are gone.  Half of the Apprentice’s pins sold, and probably half of the cups.

Safari stuff did GREAT!!  Only a few journals left, and 1 waterbottle tote.  No lip balm carriers, either.  Lots of bookmarks left, though.

My view.  This was before we started.

The Apprentice sold enough of her pins that she bought this hat from The Hook Up.

She also bought some sunglasses from the booth below, Sassy Trendz.

This was the the best I’ve ever seen for us so far.  And with plans to grow it, it can only get better!!!  Now, to head to church!  I have a LOT of thanking to do!
